How’s your Advent?

Hi Ladies! I just wanted to check with you all and see how your Advent is going so far this year. Are you managing to maintain a sense of peace and anticipation, despite the chaos this season inevitably brings?

I know I am! Sort of. Okay, not so much. I need help.

Maybe we can encourage one another here. What are some simple ways you are adding more prayer and quiet to your days, despite a busy schedule? One thing I am planning to do before the end of this week is to spend some time at Adoration, something I have missed doing for too long this season.

Another thing I am inspired to do is the O Antiphons. Are you familiar with these ancient traditional prayers for the end of Advent?

I plan to post the daily O Antiphons, with a short prayer prompt, in this space each day, beginning tomorrow. These are beautiful, traditional prayers that you can pray alone or add to your family’s daily routine. I hope that in this simple way, we can gather together in prayer and remind ourselves to focus on Christ at the end of this Advent season. Are you in? Let’s pray our way to Christmas!

Thanks for sharing the O’Antiphons. I look forward to taking the time for praying them..

Advent has been stressful and hectic for me so far. My son has been sick, and on top of my Christmas preparations I also have to prepare for his birthday which is two weeks after Christmas. We have done some meaningful Lenten traditions as a family, but I wonder how that stacks up compared to all the rushing and stressing I’ve been doing. Today I plan to go to Confession and I’m hoping that will help get my Advent back on track (and my son is on the mend as well, so that should help too).

Good for you Claire! It’s not too late at all. Enjoy the rest of Advent and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
