O Radix Jesse (Root of Jesse)

pp root

LATIN: O Radix Jesse, qui stas in signum populorum, super quem continebunt reges os suum, quem gentes deprecabuntur: veni ad liberandum nos, iam noli tardare.

ENGLISH: O Root of Jesse, that stands for an ensign of the people, before whom the kings keep silence and unto whom the Gentiles shall make supplication: come, to deliver us, and tarry not.

Lord, as I go about the activities of this day — making lists, running errands, cooking, and cleaning — help me to remember that you are at the root of all that I do. You are the foundation on which my faith feeds and grows. Thank you, Lord, for the rich deepness of our faith traditions and help me as I share them with my children and others. Amen.
